Brenda Adrian has joined KCC,
a Computershare company, as
a managing director and heads
the company’s new Strategic
Communications Services business.
The unit provides communications
guidance to companies during critical
stages of transactional and other
sensitive situations. Adrian previously
served as head of Sitrick and Company’s
East Coast restructuring practice, where
she led crisis planning, reputation
management, and litigation cases. KCC
provides administrative-support services
for the legal and financial industries.
Gordon Brothers Group has announced
that, effective October 1, Kenneth S.
Frieze assumes the role of CEO of the
firm, succeeding his father, Michael
G. Frieze, who has been a leader at the
firm since 1966 and continues as chief
investment officer and chairman of
the firm’s board of directors. Kenneth
Frieze has more than 20 years of
leadership experience in restructuring,
consulting, brand redevelopment,
appraisal, and asset disposition. He
has held various positions at the firm
since 2003, serving most recently as
president. Prior roles included leading
the firm’s brand, appraisal, and business
development efforts. Kenneth Frieze
is the fourth generation of the Gordon
family to have an active role in the firm.
Omar Mirza has joined Clarien Bank
Limited in Hamilton, Bermuda, as head
of the firm’s global loan portfolio group.
He is responsible for all commercial and
residential underwriting, collections,
and new product development. Mirza
was previously a vice president with
Ernst & Young Capital Advisors LLC.
Scott Stuart has joined the management
team at The Garden City Group Inc.
(GCG) as a senior director, Bankruptcy,
where he is responsible for new
business development and expanding
current client relationships. Stuart has
nearly a decade of legal administration
experience, having served most recently
as executive director at Donlin Recano
& Company. Prior to that, he was with
TruFoods Systems Inc. and served as a
senior trial attorney in the United States
Trustee Program. He is an ABI-trained
and practicing mediator and a faculty
member at ABI-St. John's School of
Law Mediation Training Program.
Victory Park Capital (VPC), an asset
management firm focused on middle-market debt and equity investments,
has named Gordon Watson principal.
A 15-year financial services veteran,
he joins the firm’s New York office.
VPC is headquartered in Chicago,
with additional resources in Boston,
Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
In his new role, Watson primarily
oversees sourcing, executing, and
managing direct private debt and equity
investments in specialty finance, as well
as investments in public debt securities
in middle market companies. He was
previously a portfolio manager centered
on distressed debt at GLG Partners, a
London-based hedge fund. Watson
holds an MBA from Columbia University
and a bachelor’s degree in political
science from Colgate University. J
